Adult formation and parish development are priorities for the Education Service. The teaching of the Second Vatican Council reminds us of the importance of the laity's apostolic role in the church's mission.
"Their activity within the church communities is so necessary that without it the apostolate of the pastors will frequently be unable to take its full effect... By their expert assistance they increase the efficacy of the care of souls as well as the administration of the good of the church."
( Vatican II: Decree on the Apostolate of Lay People, Chapter III)
The pages in this section give information about the range of formal courses offered by the Service. However, parishes and groups are encouraged to contact us to discuss their needs and how the Service might make provision to support these particular needs.
